Let us take you there

Zambia is defined by vast river systems and some of Africa’s most unspoilt wilderness, from the mighty Zambezi River and Victoria Falls in the south to the wildlife-rich valleys of the Luangwa in the east.

Zambia is a safari destination renowned for its immersive experiences, particularly walking safaris pioneered in South Luangwa and canoe safaris along the Lower Zambezi. It offers a balance of raw adventure and refined safari camps, combining big game encounters on foot, by vehicle and by water.

With expansive national parks, low visitor numbers and a strong conservation ethos, Zambia has preserved its wild character. Explore the bush on foot with expert guides, drift silently past wildlife by canoe, and experience the power of the Victoria Falls from land and air.

FAQS ABOUT VISITING

Zambia

Is Zambia good for safari?

Yes. Zambia is one of Africa’s most rewarding safari destinations, especially if you want raw wilderness, expert guiding and fewer crowds. It is known for walking safaris, river-based experiences, big game viewing and beautiful national parks such as South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi.

When is the best time to visit Zambia?

The best time to visit Zambia for safari is usually the dry season from May to October, when wildlife gathers around rivers and water sources. The later dry-season months, especially August to October, can be excellent for game viewing, while Victoria Falls is generally at its most powerful from February to May.

Where should you go on safari in Zambia?

For a classic Zambia safari, South Luangwa is the natural starting point, especially if you are interested in walking safaris and excellent guiding. The Lower Zambezi is ideal for river-based safari, with canoeing, boating, and wildlife along the water. Victoria Falls can also be added for a powerful scenic beginning or ending.

What is Zambia best known for?

Zambia is best known as the birthplace of the walking safari, as well as for the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls and some of Africa’s most unspoilt wilderness areas. It offers a more immersive style of safari, with game drives, guided walks, canoe safaris and boating depending on where you stay.

What makes Zambia different from other safari destinations?

Zambia feels especially wild, authentic and low-impact. Its safaris are often more immersive than conventional game-drive-only trips, with opportunities to explore on foot, by canoe, by boat and by vehicle. It is a strong choice if you want a deeper connection to the bush rather than a more crowded safari circuit.

How many days do you need for a Zambia safari?

For a well-paced Zambia safari, 7 to 10 days works well. This gives you time to combine South Luangwa with the Lower Zambezi or Victoria Falls. If you want a richer journey with multiple parks and a slower pace, 10 to 14 days is ideal.
